Joint Replacement

OrthoView has been developed to offer a complete pre-operative planning and templating system for joint replacement.

Template Selection and Quality

OrthoView comes with a library of high quality digital templates. Data supplied by the implant manufacturers is used to create the digital templates, in line with their surgical guidelines.

OrthoView's extensive digital template portfolio has been developed in conjunction with the leading orthopaedic companies. For more information on our orthopaedic partners, click here.

OrthoView's digital templates are updated regularly and managed via the web. New templates are added regularly, as data becomes available.

Clinical Assessment

OrthoView contains specific tools and Wizards for assessing, measuring and reporting a number of lines, circles and angles including Valgus and Varus angles, Shaft fracture angle, Femoral neck angle and Cobb angle.

The Templating Process

Using OrthoView involves a simple four step process: Scaling;  Planning; Templating;Reporting. All, or a combination, of the four steps may be employed depending on the procedure to be planned.

A surgeon using OrthoView can template a hip in just 90 seconds!

Scaling OrthoView's QuickScale, one-click scaling allows for quick and accurate calibration of the image when using a sphere or disc shaped radiographic marker.

Alternatively, if a marker has not been used, an estimated oversize percentage can be entered.

For more information on image scaling and the use of radiographic markers please download 'Scaling images in OrthoView'

Planning
OrthoView contains a number of intuitive Wizards. These are digital frameworks which can be positioned over key bony landmarks. Assessments made by the Wizards are used to size and position the digital templates. In addition, a number of clinical assessments can be made and recorded using OrthoView's toolset.

Using the planning Wizards is not mandatory in OrthoView.

Templating
OrthoView recommends positions and sizes of templates if the planning Wizards have been used. Adjustments can easily be made by clicking through the sets of template options, or moving them manually.

If the OrthoView Wizards have not been used, manual sizing and positioning of the digital template can be carried out.

I template in advance and check the recommendations made by OrthoView against the final result. I have found it to be extremely accurate.
